If you set up a table like this you can start to see a pattern in the fractions that describe the percentage of sun protection. The denominators are = the SPF and the numerators are = SPF - 1 |

So the first answer is 90% = 9/10 or an SPF of 10.
The second answer is 34/35 which is approximately 97.1%.
