MAP of R.I.A. (the Realm of Intellectual Adventure)
use ours or make up your own

If you are a teacher planning on doing the architecture project with a class of students, we recommend building a small town as in the Sim City game.

You can print the map below, and have your students use the sign up sheets to select a zone and pick a building. Have them sign their names or print the number of their building on the map. Then give them a piece of cardboard or plywood on which to construct their building, (we use 9 in by 9 in boards, with a 1in = 10 feet scale).

As the students work, you can lay out all of the buildings on the floor according to the map below, and watch the town come to life in your room or some special place in your school.

Having a map of your proposed town will give the class more of a feeling of ownership. They will know the address of their building, and they will know who their neighbors are as well.

use this to help you lay out your town
